Public sector unions - among them teachers' unions - are a very powerful force in American politics that increasingly works against the interests of taxpayers. Experts such as our own Steven Malanga, in Shakedown and more recently, Mallory Factor in Shadowbosses, have spent years examining the complex relationship between the taxpayer, the public sector worker, the elected official, and the government union.
